Ingredients

  • 1.5 kg diced beef casserole
  • 1/4 cup plain flour
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 250g Kaiser fleisch or bacon, chopped
  • 6 spring onions or small white bulb onions,
  • peeled, trimmed and ends halved
  • 2 tbs tomato paste
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 2 cups beef consommor liquid beef stock
  • 1 bouquet garni (see note)
  • 150g button mushrooms
  • 3 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed
