Pulled Pork Tamales

Ingredients

  • For filling:
  • 4 cups pulled pork
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2/3 cup stock (chicken or beef)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds, crushed
  • For tamale dough:
  • 2 cups masa flour
  • 2 cups lukewarm chicken broth
  • 2/3 cup whipped shortening
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • corn husks

Description

You Can Fill You Tamales With Pretty Much Anything You Have On Hand. However, You Should Remember That That Tamales Won't Have A Lot Of Flavor If The Filling Is Bland. When You Make Pulled Pork Tamales You Can Use Leftover Pulled Pork Just The Way It Is.
