- one 12-oz. loaf pound cake
- 1/4 C. brandy (you can substitute with Frangelico Hazelnut Liquor)
- 6 oz. bittersweet chocolate, chopped (you can substitute 3 oz. each of milk & bittersweet Perugina chocolateâ available in supermarkets)
- 2 C. chilled whipping cream
- 1/2 tsp. pure almond extract (you can substitute 2 oz. Disaronno Almond Liquor)
- 1/4 C. powdered sugar
- 1/2 C. sliced almonds, toasted, coarsely crumbled
- unsweetened cocoa powder
