Ingredients

  • 1 cup finest basmati rice
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  •     or 1 tablespoon ghee
  • 1 large onion, thinly, sliced
  • 1 button mushroom, thinly, sliced
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas, optional
  • 2 cardamom pod
  • 2 cinnamon, sticks
  • 3 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups water, add extra if necessary
