Ingredients

Steak Salad

  • 2 pounds flank steak (1 kg)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (15 ml)
  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • 2 cucumbers cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 2 avocados, diced
  • 1 cup cilantro, torn (250 ml)
  • 1 cup mint, torn (250 ml)
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (30 ml)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Jalapeno Poppers

  • 4 jalapeno peppers (can be substituted for milder peppers)
  • 1/4 cup grated Cheddar cheese (60 ml)
  • 1/4 cup grated Monterey Jack cheese (60 ml)
  • 1/4 cup grated Gruyere (60 ml)
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup beer (180 ml)
  • 1 cup flour (250 ml)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
