  • Salt and ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon finely shredded lime peel (optional)
  • 1/2 of a medium head napa cabbage, shredded (6 cups)
  • 1/2 of a medium seedless cucumber, sliced and/or cut into strips (6 ounces)
