1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust quantity to suit)
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 tablespoon honey
1/2 cup raisins
4 medium carrots, cut on the diagonal
water or vegetable stock
800g cooked chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drained (canned is fine)
1 tablespoon rosewater *
bunch of fresh coriander (cilantro) leaves, chopped
1 lemon
*You'll find rosewater at north african or middle eastern grocers - calorie free, it adds a wonderful aroma to this dish
