Ingredients

    2 tbsp olive oil
    2 tbsp butter
    1 large bunch scallions, thinly sliced (can substitute leeks or spring onions)
    2 1/2 tsp lemon zest
    1 tbsp finely chopped thyme, sage or tarragon
    salt and pepper
    2 lbs asparagus, trimmed
    3/4 lb linguine pasta
    2 tbsp pine nuts, toasted in a small skillet
    3 tbsp chopped parsley
    2 tbsp snipped chives, plus blossoms if available
    Freshly grated Parmesan cheese, optional
