- 1 lb. 93% lean ground turkey
1 small yellow onion, chopped
1/2 cup chopped green pepper (or more to your taste)
1 can diced tomatoes ("no salt added" used to calculate nutrition info)
1 Jar (26 oz.) marinara sauce
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper
12 oz pasta (shells,elbows, farfalle, ziti...your choice)
2 quarts water (to cook the pasta in)
4 oz. part skim milk mozzarella cheese, shredded
red pepper flakes (optional; to taste)
several teaspoons of canned, diced chile peppers (optional; to taste)
Description
A Variation Of A Yummy Dish My Mother In Law Makes. This Tastes Wonderful With Ground Beef But Ground Turkey Is Much Leaner. Use Homemade Or Low Sodium Tomato Sauce If Sodium Is A Concern.
