Ingredients
- 1 can fava beans, drained
1 can garbanzo beans, drained
1/3 cup water
2 large cloves of garlic, minced
2 lemons, juiced
Place beans and water into a sauce pan. Simmer for ten minutes.
Remove from heat, let rest for ten minutes.
Add the garlic (minced with salt) and lemon juice and stir. Mash slightly with a mortar or the bottom of a drinking glass.
Garnish with any combination of the following: paprika, cayenne, parsley, coriander leaf, radish, tomato, pickle, cucumber, hard boiled egg, olive oil, or tahini sauce.
Serve with hummus and bread.
