Ingredients

  • 4 (6-ounce) skinless halibut or other firm white fish fillets

  • Potatoes:
  • 5 cups cubed red potato (about 1 3/4 pounds)
  • 1/2 cup 2% reduced-fat milk
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh chives
  • 2 teaspoons prepared horseradish
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

  • Cabbage:
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1 cup shredded peeled Granny Smith apple (about 3/4 pound)
  • 6 cups very thinly sliced red cabbage
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
