- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds
- 1 cup shredded peeled Granny Smith apple (about 3/4 pound)
- 6 cups very thinly sliced red cabbage
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
