Aamti (maharashtrian Lentils) Recipe


  • 280 gm Split mung beans, (moong dal)
  • 600 ml Water
  • 3 Tbsp. Sunflower oil
  • 1 tsp Black mustard seeds
  • 1 lrg Healthy pinch asafoetida
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 10 x Curry leaves
  • 4 x Green chillies, sliced just sufficient to reveal seeds
  • 150 gm Tomatoes, minced
  • 6 Tbsp. Coriander leaves, minced
  •     Salt
