- 1/2 c. mixed black, green and pink peppercorns (divided)

- 6 x (5-oz) New York steaks
- Â Â Salt to taste
- 2 Tbsp. mild-flavored oil, such as almond or possibly safflower
- 1 c. red wine
- 1 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar
- 1 c. whipping cream
- 1/2 c. beef broth or possibly stock
- 3 Tbsp. unsalted butter, cut into small pcs
- 1 Tbsp. wasabi paste
- Â Â Sprig of fresh cilantro or possibly mint for garnish
- 1 Tbsp. peanut oil
- 1/4 lb Chinese snow peas, cut into 1 inch chunks
- 1 c. oyster mushrooms, whole or possibly cut in half, depending upon size
- 1 c. shiitake mushrooms, whole or possibly cut in half, stems removed
- 1 c. each red and yellow bell pepper strips, cut into 1 inch chunks
- 1/2 lrg Japanese eggplant, cut into 6 or possibly 7 slices
- 1/4 med bok choy, cut into 1 inch chunks
- 5 x broccoli florets
- 5 x young asparagus spears, cut into 1 1/2- to 2 inch lengths
- 1/3 c. chicken broth or possibly stock, heated
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
