- Dashi: half a cup
- Soy sauce: 1 tablespoon
- Mirin/sweet sake: 1 tablespoon
- Japanese sake: 1 tablespoon
- Cornstarch dissolved in water: according to preferences
- Trefoil (or other leaves) for decoration: according to preferences
