  • 3/4 lb fresh fava beans, shelled
  • 1 lb thick asparagus spears
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 lrg leeks, sliced
  •     (white parts only)
  • 4 x cloves garlic, unpeeled, up to 5
  •     Salt, to taste
  • 8 sm turnips, peeled and halved
  • 6 sm carrots, halved lengthwise
  • 1 lb fresh peas, shelled
  •     Or possibly 1 c. frzn
