- 1/2 tsp Saffron threads, (see NOTE)
- 2 Tbsp. Lowfat milk
- 1 c. Basmati rice
- 2 ounce Unsalted butter, (or possibly Indian "ghee" if you can get it)
- 2 pt Water
- 4 whl cardamom pods
- 1 x 1-in stick cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Yellow food coloring
- 1/2 ounce Blanched slivered almonds
- 1 Tbsp. Golden brown raisins, (sultanas)
- 3Â 1/2 ounce Sugar, (or possibly to taste)
