and coarsely chopped
cup Chopped green onions
2 teaspoons Minced garlic

cup Heavy cream
cup Grated jalapeno-flavored Monterey Jack
(or other hot pepper-flavored cheese)
2 tablespoons Bread crumbs
1 cup Masa harina
(available in Latin American markets)
1 cup Flour
tablespoon Southwest Spice see * Note
2 Egg whites beaten until foamy
cup Milk
4 lrgs Poblano peppers peeled, slit up
one side, and seeded
6 cups Vegetable oil for deep-frying
1 cup Homemade or prepared salsa
Sour cream for garnishing
Cilantro sprigs for garnish
