Ingredients For the almond pancakes
  • 150g/5½oz self-raising flour

  • 2 tbsp caster sugar

  • 1 free-range egg

  • 150ml/¼ pint milk

  • 55g/2oz flaked almonds

  • oil, for frying

For the toffee sauce
  • 55g/2oz butter

  • 55g/2oz soft brown sugar

  • 150ml/¼ pint double cream

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • 30g/1oz plain chocolate, chopped

To serve
  • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream

  • 1 banana, sliced
