Texas Chocolate Sheet Cake

Ingredients

  • FOR THE CAKE:
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup canola or vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • FOR THE FROSTING:
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 pound confectioners sugar, sifted (about 4 cups)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (toasted)

This Was The First Cake I Made From Scratch (in The 8th Grade). It's An Easy Cake, But Tastes Oh So Good.
