6 green cardamom pods
1/4 teaspoon whole cloves
2 red onions, sliced
Kosher salt to taste
1 (28-ounce) can whole, peeled tomatoes, drained
2 1/2 pounds bone-in, skinless chicken thighs
1 (13 1/2-ounce) can coconut milk
6 small to medium waxy potatoes
Chopped cilantro
Julienned ginger
