Meatball tagine

Ingredients

For the meatballs

  • 800 g minced lamb or beef
  • 1 onion, grated
  • 6 tbsp finely ground breadcrumbs
  • 3 tbsp chopped mint
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 3 tsp ground cumin
  • 3 tsp ground sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 6 eggs
For the sauce

  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 x 400g cans chopped tomatoes, blended until smooth
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander
For the green pepper salsa

  • 4 green peppers, roasted, skinned and seeded
  • 1 cloves garlic
  • 1 preserved lemons, pulp taken out, skin finely diced
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • tsp harissa
