  • For the sesame-onion noodles:
  • 4 spring onions
  • 2 tablespoons sunflower or peanut oil
  • 14 ounces ready-to-cook udon noodles
  • 1 handful bok choy
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • sesame seeds, toasted, for sprinkling
  • sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • For the Asian-style seared beef:
  • 1 pound free-range rump steak
  • sunflower or peanut oil for rubbing the steak
  • sesame oil for drizzling
  • soy sauce for drizzling
  • freshly ground black pepper
