Apple Pandowdy


  • 1 1/2 cups  all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
  • 1/4 teaspoon  salt
  • 1 stick  plus 1 tablespoon cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1/4 cup  ice water
  • 6   large apples, peeled, cored and cut into 1-inch chunks or thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons  fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup  sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon  cinnamon
