• 1/4 teaspoon  salt
• 1/4 teaspoon  ground allspice
• 1   envelope unflavored gelatin
• 2 tablespoons  water
• 1/2 cup  half-and-half
• 1 tablespoon  powdered egg whites (see Note)
• 3 tablespoons  warm water
