- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/2 cup half-and-half
- 1 tablespoon powdered egg whites (see Note)
- 3 tablespoons warm water
