  • 6 cups  water
  • 1 cup  regular brown rice
  • 1 tablespoon  olive oil
  • 1 cup  chopped onion (1 large onion)
  • 1/2 cup  chopped green sweet peppers
  • 1/4 cup  finely shredded carrot
  • 1 cup  bottled barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup  water
  • 2 tablespoons  toasted wheat germ
  • 1/4 teaspoon  ground cinnamon
  •   Sea salt or salt and pepper
  • 6 to 8  whole-wheat hamburger buns or Kaiser rolls split and toasted, if you like
