Chocolate Angel-food Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup  cake flour
  • 2 cups  sugar, divided
  • 1/2 cup  Dutch-process cocoa*
  • 2 cups  egg whites (approximately 14 to 16 large egg whites), at room temperature**
  • 3/4 teaspoon  cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon  salt
  • 1 teaspoon  vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon  almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon  coconut extract

  • 1/2 cup  sweetened flaked coconut, toasted

Description
