  • 4 to 8  cloves garlic, peeled and cut in to slivers
  • 2 tablespoons  coriander seed, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons  finely shredded lemon peel
  • 1 tablespoon  olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon  cumin seed, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon  salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon  whole black peppercorns, crushed
  •   Assorted peeled and cut up vegetables, such as carrots, turnips, and sweet peppers (optional)
