  • 4 cloves  garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons  fine dry bread crumbs
  • 2 pounds  ripe tomatoes, cut into wedges (about 6 cups)
  • 1 cup  halved cherry tomatoes (about 6 ounces)
  • 1/2 teaspoon  salt
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup  loosely packed small fresh basil leaves
