Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground lamb
  • 2 tablespoons harissa or red chili paste
  • 2 cloves garlic, grated or finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons grated lemon peel
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander (about 1/3 palmful)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin (about 1/3 palmful)
  • 2 pinches cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO), plus more for drizzling
  • 1 cup Greek-style yogurt
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped fresh mint (a generous handful)
  • 2 scallions, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 8 ounces coleslaw mix
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 crusty rolls, split
