Corn And Cheddar Chowder Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 regular potatoes
  • 2 cups salted water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp sage (optional)
  • 3 T butter
  • 1 medium onion, chopped fine
  • 3 T flour
  • 1 1/4 cup whipping cream
  • 1 small can (11 oz.) corn [I usually use Green Giant Niblets]
  • 4 oz. grated medium cheddar cheese (about 1 1/2 cups)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • croutons or crusty French bread
