Rhu's Marinara Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 T olive oil
  • 1 c diced onion
  • 1 c sliced 'shrooms
  • ¼ c diced green bell pepper
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • ¾ c dry red wine
  • ¾ c water
  • OR sub 1 ½ c chicken bouillon for the wine and water
  • ¼ c chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 T sugar
  • 1 t dried oregano
  • 1 t dried basil
  • 1 t dried rosemary, crushed
  • 1 t salt
  • ½ t pepper
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 (28 oz) can whole tomatoes, undrained, chopped
  • 1 (6 oz) can tomato paste

Description

The Sauce Gets Better After The Flavors Blend In The Refrigerator A Few Days. This Recipe Also Found On A Piece Of Copy Paper With No Date, Floating Around In My Cook Books. Makes Enough For A Half Pound Pasta. Mother Likes It Enough To Eat It As A Soup.
