- 1 large onion, sliced in half and thinly sliced
- 1/2 tablespoon flour
- 3/4 cup chicken or beef stock
- splash of red wine
- salt and pepper
- 2 large russet potatoes, peeled and chopped.
- 3/4 cup milk, warmed
- 5 tablespoons butter
