- 1 bay leaf, fresh or dried
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves, chopped
- 2 rounded tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/3-1/2 cup dry sherry
- 1 small box biscuit mix or mix to prepare 8 drop biscuits, prepared according to package directions, such as Jiffy brand
- 1/4 cup flat leaf parsley, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon paprika
