Manhattan-style Clam Chowder

Ingredients

10 slices Turkey bacon, diced
2 cup Chopped onion
4 Carrots, thinly sliced
6 Ribs celery with leaves, thinly sliced
2 tablespoon Fresh parsley, or 2 teaspoon dried
2 large can (28 ounces ) tomatoes, broken up, undrained
2 tsp. Salt
Black pepper
2 Bay leaf
2 tsp. Dried thyme
6 Medium potatoes, diced
4 cans (6 to 7 oz each) minced clams with juice
2 bottle (8oz) clam juice
2 tablespoon Flour blended with 2 tablespoon melted butter or a little of the bacon grease, optional
