- 1 4-inch vanilla bean or 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 5 eggs
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 6 cups dry French bread cubes*
- 1/3 cup dried tart cherries, cranberries or raisins
- Hard Sauce (see recipe below)
