Blueberry Crumb Coffeecake Recipe

Ingredients

  • Crumb cake batter:
  • ¼ cup solid shortening (such as Crisco)
  • ¼ cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream with 1 tablespoon vinegar stirred in
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 2 cups washed and well drained fresh blueberries (I blot them dry with paper toweling)
  • Topping:
  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
