- juice of 1 lemon, add water to make ½ C.
- 3 large garlic cloves, peeled and sliced
- 4 fresh thyme sprigs
- 2 fresh sage leaves
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/8 tsp hot red pepper flakes
- a few black peppercorns
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 T. balsamic vinegar
