- 4 whole eggs
- 4 c. cake flour
- 1 c. plus 1 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1 tsp. each of: cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg
- 1 box of raisins
- 1/2 c. nut meats
- 2 c. applesauce
