- 1 pound spareribs (beef, pork or lamb), cut into 1-inch long pieces
- 1 tsp ground cardamom
- 1 one-inch piece cinnamon, crushed
- 12 whole black peppercorns, crushed
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 6 cloves garlic, peeled and finely minced
- 1 cup water
- 4 large potatoes
- Pinch salt
- 1 tsp cayenne
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- 2 green chilies, finely minced
- 1/2 cup cilantro or mint leaves
- 4 eggs
- salt to taste
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 4 cups vegetable or olive oil
