Suzy-q's Beef Stew Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2.5 lbs beef chuck, cubed into 1" pieces
  • Italian salad dressing (I use Good seasons)
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 2 TBSP vegetable oil
  • 4 Cups boiling water and 2 tsp "Better than Boullion" base OR 2 cup boiling water and 2 Cups broth (beef/veggie)
  • 1 TBSP lemon juice
  • 1 Tsp red wine
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 large onion
  • 2-3 bay leaves
  • 6-7 med red potatoes
  • 1 small bag baby carrots (1lb)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1.2 tsp black pepper
  • dash allspice
  • 2 cups Bisquick & 2/3 c milk for dumplings if desired

Beef Stew Has Such A Broad Appeal. Even Picky Eaters Love It. I Make This Stew Every Year For A Large Group Of Friends And Their Kids At Camp. It Is Devoured Completely.
