Salad:
- 2medium grapefruit
- 8thin slices fresh ginger
- 14cup extra-virgin olive oil, plus additional for brushing
- 1tablespoon white wine vinegar
- 112teaspoons soy sauce
- 1teaspoon honey
- 12teaspoon salt, plus additional for seasoning
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 2heads Bibb or Boston lettuce, trimmed, leaves torn into pieces
- 12large fresh basil leaves, torn
- 1small serrano chile, minced (leave the seeds in for more heat)
- 2Hass avocados, halved, pitted, peeled, and sliced
