Pasta Paella with Orzo

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds small clams
  • 1 1/2 pounds mussels
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 1 1/2 pounds orzo
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 medium onions, finely chopped
  • 8 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 to 2 Serrano chiles, seeded and minced
  • 3 large tomatoes, cored, seeded and diced
  • 1 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen peas
  • Pinch saffron
  • 1 bunch fresh oregano, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 to 2 cups clam juice or fish stock, warmed
  • 1 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
