1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese (optional garnish)
3/4 cup nonfat plain greek yogurt or sour cream (optional garnish)
1 cup flour
1 cup cornmeal
1 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 each eggs
1 cup low-fat or fat-free buttermilk
