3/4 cupÂ Â dried apricots, chopped 1/2 cupÂ Â orange juice, divided 1 cupÂ Â whole-wheat flour 3/4 cupÂ Â all-purpose flour 3/4 cup plus 1 tablespoonÂ Â toasted wheat germ, divided 1 1/2 teaspoonsÂ Â baking powder 1/2 teaspoonÂ Â baking soda 1/4 teaspoonÂ Â salt 2Â Â large eggs 1/2 cupÂ Â packed light brown sugar 1 cupÂ Â buttermilk (see Tip) 1/4 cupÂ Â canola oil 2 tablespoonsÂ Â freshly grated orange zest 1 teaspoonÂ Â vanilla extract Tip: You can use buttermilk powder in place of fresh buttermilk.
