  • 435g pkt Careme vanilla bean sweet shortcrust pastry (see note) or 3 sheets frozen shortcrust pastry, thawed
  • 4 green apples, peeled, chopped
  • 1/3 cup (75g) caster sugar
  • 1 cinnamon quill
  • 80g unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup (75g) frozen mixed berries
  • 2 tbs golden syrup
  • 1 3/4 cups (120g) fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 firmly packed cup (110g) brown sugar
  • Malted milk ice cream (see related recipe), to serve
