  • 1/3 cup chopped shallots
  • 1 tablespoon bottled minced garlic or 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca
  • 3/4 cup chicken broth
  • 3/4 cup apple cider or juice
  • 3 cups hot cooked rice
