3 tablespoons water
1 cup chopped white onion (about 1 medium onion)
1 tablespoon minced garlic (about 3 cloves)
1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup cooked, coarsely chopped spinach
1 tablespoon wine vinegar plus additional as condiment
Dash of freshly ground black pepper to taste
Hot sauce as condiment
