Apple Pie Bars

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 4 egg yolks, beaten
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • FILLING:
  • 7 cups finely chopped peeled apples
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Dash of ground nutmeg
  • GLAZE:
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 Tb. lemon juice
  • Milk

Description

A Mixture Of Chopped Apples, Sugar, Flour, Cinnamon And Nutmeg Is Spread Between A 2-crust Pastry In A Large Rectangular Pan, Then Baked And Drizzled With A Powdered Sugar Icing.
