- 1 tablespoon Chinese rice wine (Shaoxing)* or dry sherry
- 1⁄4 cup soy sauce
- 6 whole green onions, thinly sliced, 1⁄4 cup green tops reserved for garnish
- freshly ground black pepper, to taste
