Bread and Butter Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup raisins 
  • 1/3 cup rum   
  • 3 tablespoons enriched bread, such as challah or brioche, cut into 1-inch cubes (plus more as needed for greasing)
  • 2 cups butter, unsalted, melted and kept warm   
  • 2 cups whole milk  
  • 3 large eggs, lightly beaten   
  • 1 large egg yolk,  lightly beaten   
  • 1/3 cup sugar   
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
